the photo story is about two Ossetian (ethnic minoritie) villages Gadamshi and Chvebari in the region of Racha, Georgia. only one family is left in each.
others, after the independence of Georgia, gradually started to left for Vladikavkaz (Russia) and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) due to the rise of Georgian nationalism and aggression towards ethnic minorities.
the story is published on Chai Khana media - a multimedia, visually-driven platform connecting people across the South Caucasus.
the photo project was selected for the group exhibition FRAGMENTS - a selection of photo stories with compelling visual storytelling produced by Chai Khana in 2022.
